Unfortunately you cant stuff a container to the max. Reasons being we have Heavy Vehicle National Law . You can find additional information at the Vic Roads website.
Australian roads generally take up to 42.5T in weight. A quick calculation for a 20FCL: Truck will be
approx 22.5T plus your container 2.23T the remainder is 17.7T net weight of
goods inside.
Any containers needing a Sideloader
delivery that are over 22,500kg (22.5T, Including the Weight of the container)
will incur additional charges. Reasons being is that container will need
to be moved via skel/flatbed truck and a sideloader truck to unload.
Excessively heavy containers require special road permits etc, the additional cost for this differ on a case by case basis.
Below is a good diagram to assist you with dimensions and weights. Although the container has a maximum gross mass doesn't necessarily mean we have the capability to move them on our roads. Best to do your research and sensibly stuff your containers within the road rule laws.
